WWE: 5 Things That Definitely Need To Change (Part 1) is the first in a 5 Part Series, outlining what are the 5 things the WWE need to change.
The number is WWE PG Rating, which has been a constant topic of debate among fans since it was introduced several years ago.
1. The WWE PG rating
– I don’t care what controversy this will get me into but I’m just going to say it. The WWE PG rating needs to be changed.
Long ago WWE made a change that would affect its landscape forever. No I’m not on about the invention of an all male cheerleading squad
(remember them? yeah that’s right Kenny Dykstra and his other friends in green tracksuits), I am of course talking about WWE’s decision to refer to a P.G broadcast of programming .

Now, originally, being a teenager I was of course obsessed with John Cena and thought the P.G rating was the biggest blessing since sliced bread.
But as I have (slightly) matured, I see now the error of my ways. Part of the ‘chain gang’ since Cena’s debut, I decided to research into the old WWE Attitude Era that John had so profoundly talked about in the ring. And what I found was genius. What I found was a world of mayhem, carnage, intensity and drama .
No; it wasn’t some sort of soap opera, but something much more exhilarating, something much more mesmerizing, it was the WWE’s attitude era. Fueled on adrenaline, and by the look of things fueled on booze as well, WWE had struck gold with its mix of madness, sex and brutality.
Led by the freight train of The Rock and Steve Austin, WWE was a juggernaught machine that could not be stopped .The pure attitude of the weekly show propelled it forward and captured the imagination and fascination of millions of viewers, including myself.

Unfortunately I was too late, as, being born ten years after; the WWE was now occupied by a new group of heroes & villains, who although clearly talented, were nothing on the muscular titans of yesteryear.
Don’t get me wrong , I love WWE now and always will , no matter what direction the company is taking , but this is an article to say what I feel would improve the WWE. And the WWE PG rating is something that need to be changed.
And this is something I do firmly believe in. Yes, the days of the Texas rattlesnake and the Brahma bull may be over, and even though it pains me to think that. Now The Rock will wrestle at next year wrestlemania 28 ppv. And that, purely that, gives me hope that WWE still has attitude and a resurgence is possible, but I have always been an optimist.
Feel free to comment and disagree, infact I dare you, I don’t mind a bit of banter. Hope you enjoyed the article , see you guys next time, when I’ll give you the next in my series!

Hey. I came across your article. I was a teenager during the attitude era and it definately was amazing. The sad thing is i dont see it going that far again simply because of sponsors and the fact that wwe has no (real) competition. But even if they exclude the overt sexuality and language , they could still recreate the feel of the era. I miss the unpredictability of the day.Plus everything that happened contributed to an overall story. NO WASTED AIRTIME. We can hope ,right ?
