From backstage sources, it is rumored that the recently hyped up Hulk Hogan concept that will change the wrestling business and create momentum-shiftin for TNA is having fans to video capture TNA wrestlers almost TMZ style. The idea is for fans to film the TNA Wrestlers everywhere in or out of the ring.
Not surprising, the initial backstage reaction among the TNA Locker room regarding this rumored concept has been largely negative. A particular person even point out that with Hulk Hogan own recent personal issues with video filming, the idea was ironic.
I swear, it seems every week, either Dixie Carter or Hulk Hogan tweet about ‘shocking’ surprises or major changes, and they don’t even come close to be even legitimate, much less shocking.
I sincerely hope this is just speculation and not reality. This is single handed one of the most dumbest Ideas I have ever heard in my entire Life. If this concept is true I hope it fails and Hogan gets fired within 2 or 3 months.
That is a desperate idea that will probably attract the interest of many crazy fans at the expense of turning the entire locker room against Hogan. Seriously, What in the blue hell is Hogan doing? Wow that is the lamest idea to turn a company round in the history of all mankind.
Revolutionize the business? People already snap pictures of wrestlers everywhere. If I were a TNA wrestler, I would be pissed. You’re encouraging a million people to invade their privacy even more.
It does sound like asking fans to stalk but lets be honest, they do not need Hogan to tell them to do that. I think most creepy fans would be doing this either way. Thanks to TMZ and youtube you have creeps already doing these things. I doubt it will increase the # of them by much.
And what exactly will you do with this footage? How does it even matter to increasing PPV buys and TV ratings?
The talent in Orlando isn’t getting paid enough for that kind of crap. This is just giving the fanatic fans a permit to stalk the wrestlers. Kind of scary that some of them will do so.
If Hogan thinks this will get them social media attention then he doesn’t know the first thing about social media.
I know it’s been said before, but it seems like TNA would be a lot more successful if it just focused on wrestling. If they relied less on gimmickry, they might be able to attract more traditional wrestling fans. I know I would be much more likely to watch their show if they focused on developing new stars and actual in-ring competition.
Maybe this is just a ploy to distract us from the real change happening, David Arquette just signed a contract! Seriously TNA should have cut Hogan off his contract the second he said Garrett Bischoff was the future of wrestling.
Please have Scott Steiner unload more Twitter Rants on this so-called idea…. Thats all for the moment.
You can read the interview about this “idea” of Hogan’s.
Hulk Hogan spoke recently with the New York Post on various topics, including the following section about the momentum-changing movement that will bring TNA Impact Wrestling to the next level.
“You can have an idea, but you need this momentum changing movement. We had the Hulkamania movement, the Stone Cold era, and the NWO era, the business has changed. I have this big idea, which I will soon throw out there and that I think will change the wrestling business again.
When asked further about his idea : We will give more power to the fans and more importantly get them involved and interacting. Nothing more I can say right now, except that I will be so either completely right or completely wrong.”
